Results of Port Townsend Rotary Fund A Cause April 23, 2016
Attendees at the 2016 Port Townsend Rotary Fund A Cause raised $29,578 for Dove House Shelter renovations.

Thank you to everyone who attended and bid. We look forward to providing updates as Shelter improvements progress.
The shelter, a former Port Townsend B&B, provides emergency shelter for individuals and families fleeing domestic violence. The shelter needs basic renovations to continue providing a nurturing environment where women and children can recuperate. Modern windows, fresh paint, and new furnishings are among the repairs your support will provide. Moreover, while grants provide a significant portion of our operating costs, only 1 small grant covers the cost meals, which must be provided for single-family and not communal living. Currently, we are piloting a multi-family meal program, Healthy Meals, which collaborates with a professional chef in hands-on meal preparation as a group – just one example of how the project helps empower and inspire its residents. Your donation will also help close the gap, covering the residents’ food and ensuring the shelter stays open. Nutrition and independence help the women and children staying in the Dove House towards better lives.
Every Jefferson county resident should live free from fear and pain. By helping the Dove House, you support our community’s most vulnerable members on their first steps towards better lives. By helping them, by striving for a community free from abuse, we create a better world for us all. Dove House operates the only emergency shelter in Jefferson County for families 365 days/year, 24 hours/day. All services are completely free and confidential and do not require any proof of eligibility. Services include: advocacy-based counseling, legal and medical advocacy, group sessions, educational and financial workshops and more:
