Who: This group is for young adults ages 18-24,
who identify as having experienced sexual trauma. What: A support group for survivors of sexual trauma ages 18-24. We hope to create a space in which survivors can connect with one another through games, art, journaling, and sharing about their experiences. When: Starts September 27th 5:30-7:00 PM PST and continues every Monday for 12 weeks. Where: All groups will be online via Zoom. This group is open to anyone in Washington State. Why: You are not alone. It can be so helpful to meet and connect with people that share a similar experience. We can learn from each other how to deal with how trauma impacts us. They include values, coping skills, how trauma impacts us, body image, boundaries, consent, sexuality, healing, empowerment, and justice. About the Facilitators
Marisa Withey Byrne (she, her) is a big-hearted humanitarian, who loves life and laughter. She is a holistic sexual health educator, rite of passage facilitator, and holds healing spaces for survivors of sexual trauma. Marisa has worked with youth since she was one herself, both in classrooms and private programs. She believes that true power comes from fully embracing and embodying our whole selves.
Teresa Shiraishi is obsessed with food, flowers and being outside. She is a therapist working with survivors of sexual and intimate trauma both individually and in groups. She has multiple years of experience working with youth in the classroom on topics like healthy relationships, mindfulness and sexuality. She is humbled by the opportunity to witness other people’s growth and healing journeys, which ongoingly inspires her to continue her own.
